Empowered means ‘to give someone the power to do something’. That will always be our club’s mission. Southwark Stars provides a home in the heart of London for over 70 men and women with a learning disability to feel valued, heard and empowered but we’re not finished yet.
Ahead of our new season, we’ve launched a new video to celebrate our achievements and inspire more disabled Londoners to play football. Often ignored and forgotten, we want to amplify our players’ voices to empower London.
The video comes shortly after we featured on a Canary Wharf billboard – an opportunity made possible by Clear Channel.
A special thanks to Alin Kovacs (producer & director) from Tutti, Stuart Harper Photographer (videographer), Sian Maksousa (editor) and Kim Wickett (script writter) for their passion, expertise and generosity.
